Salary Range:Commencing rate of $36.25 per hour + 25% casual loading. Weekend penalty rates apply on Saturdays and Sundays.

This role combines lifeguarding, customer service, facility operations, and teamwork. You'll supervise pool activities, help maintain a safe environment, enforce pool rules fairly and respectfully, provide first aid when required, assist with memberships and admissions, handle cash transactions, support events and programs, and help ensure our facilities are clean, presentable, and ready for the community to enjoy. You'll also play animportant role in maintaining a positive and family-friendly atmosphereby managing behavioural issues professionally and resolving conflicts calmly when they arise.

We're looking for people who areresponsible, observant, and able to think on their feet. While safety is always the priority, this isn't a role where you'll spend the day sitting poolside. You'll be actively involved across all aspects of the facility, including customer service, administration, general maintenance, grounds upkeep, cleaning amenities and toilets, preparing for events, monitoring water quality, and supporting daily operations. We want team members who are willing to roll up their sleeves, take pride in their workplace, and contribute wherever needed to ensure our facility operates smoothly.Flexibility is important, as the role includes weekend, public holiday, and shift work across operational hours.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supervising pool users and ensuring patron safety at all times
• Responding to emergencies and providing first aid, CPR, and rescues when required
• Enforcing pool rules and managing behavioural issues professionally
• Delivering outstanding customer service to visitors of all ages
• Processing admissions, memberships, bookings, and cash transactions
• Preparing facilities for community events and programs
• Conducting water quality testing and supporting pool operations
• Maintaining clean, safe, and attractive facilities and grounds
• Completing cleaning duties, including amenities and toiletsHelp create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for our community at Council’s aquatic facilities.

To be successful in this role, you will hold (or be willing to obtain prior to commencement) a current Pool Lifeguard Certificate, First Aid and CPR qualifications, Working with Children Check, and NSW Class C Driver Licence ().

Positions are available across the Warrumbungle Shire, at pools located in Binnaway, Baradine, Coonabarabran, Coolah, Dunedoo and Mendooran.

Selection criteria include:

  • CurrentRoyal Life Saving Society Pool Lifeguard Certificate(or equivalent) or ability to obtain prior to commencement - Council will provide this training
  • CurrentProvide First Aid (HLTAID011)andProvide CPR (HLTAID009)or ability to obtain prior to commencement
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise patrons effectively and respond confidently in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and behavioural issues with members of the public in a calm, respectful, and solution-focused manner
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver Licence. Applicants may be under 18, butyou MUST hold a minimum of Provisional Drivers Licence.
  • Current paidWorking with Children Check.

It is a plus if you have experience working in a public swimming pool or similar recreational facility, knowledge of pool plant operations, water chemistry, and maintenance, experience in delivering or supporting aquatic programs and a Pool Operations Certificate or willingness to obtain.
