We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Water and Sewer Process Coordinator to join our team!

    The Job Opportunity:

    • Co-ordination of resources and work practices of the process team to ensure operation and control of treatment plants, water storages and pump stations in accordance with Council’s Drinking Water Management System, EPA licence conditions and agreed Levels of Service.
    • Conduct preventative and operational maintenance scheduling of water and sewer infrastructure, fleet and equipment utilised by the team.
    • Co-ordinate a team of Operators, electrical and mechanical trades team including provision of ongoing performance feedback
    • Provide leadership, technical support and guidance to staff and respond to process alarms and abnormal conditions, and implement corrective actions
    • Perform emergency response and participate in on-call supervisory roster and optimise process, maximise productivity and seek cost-effective solutions
    • Assist in implementation of management support systems and in the development of budgets
    • Monitor and report on expenditure for operation and maintenance activities.
    • Support and co-ordinate the process team’s participation in the implementation and review of Council’s Drinking Water Management System and Dam Safety Management System
    • Support and co-ordinate the process team’s participation in the implementation and review of Council’s Pollution Incident Response Management Plans for sewerage systems in accordance with legislative requirements.
    • Review process performance and assist in adjustment, optimisation and troubleshooting of water and sewage treatment processes.
    • Coordinate and deliver projects and outcomes in accordance with Council’s budget allocations and strategic priorities.
    • Engage and co-ordinate contractors in accordance with Council’s policies, procedures and delegations.

    To Thrive in Your New Role:

    • You hold a Engineering Bachelor degree, equivalent tertiary qualification or extensive equivalent relevant industry experience
    • You hold a Class C Drivers Licence.
    • You have a minimum 5 years’ experience in a Local Government environment or similar role with a focus on water and/or sewerage treatment systems.
    • You have knowledge of organisational and legislative requirements related to the position and working knowledge of telemetry and SCADA operating systems
    • You have the ability to identify, assess, and control the WH&S risks of employees, visitors and contractors and to the environment.
    • You have proven ability to plan, organise and lead the activities of staff and contractors.
    • You have knowledge and practical experience in microbiology and chemistry.
    • You have demonstrated ability to analyse complex situations, solve issues and implement solutions to achieve effective results; including the development and implementation of technical procedures;
    • You have the ability to undertake quality assurance tasks including documentation and reporting
    • You have the commitment and ability to carry out rostered duties (including shifts on weekends and outside of normal business hours) for essential operation and maintenance of water supply and sewerage systems.
