Description

As the Mid-Western Region continues to grow and prosper at a
steady rate, Council now employs over 500 staff members and has an exciting
opportunity for a full time Recruitment & Engagement Officer coordinate and design of processes to source, attract, evaluate and
recruit suitable candidates to Council, and assist with Councils employee engagement and wellbeing
strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, recommend, advise on strategies to attract, recruit, retain and engage existing and
    potential employees to deliver favourable outcomes for employees and Council by:

- employing research, consultation and collaboration within council and the LGNSW network;

- engaging recruitment tools and channels;

- reporting on outcomes of initiatives;

- liaising with external stakeholders and reference groups as required to gain insight, advice,
guidance and best practice methodologies.

  • Lead various HR projects and initiatives that aim to streamline and enable user-friendly end to end
    processes, that are considerate of best practice processes, changes in trends and emerging
    opportunities
  • Provide internal training to applicable Managers to effectively and efficiently conduct successful
    recruitment initiatives
  • Lead various initiatives and work with the HR team to review and adapt the onboarding and
    offboarding systems and processes, with consideration being given to user accessibility, whilst
    ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, governance and policy requirements
  • Lead recruitment and engagement focus activities and initiatives as required, that aim to attract the
    most suitable and desirable to the organisation and the region
  • Develop, implement, monitor and report on workforce succession strategies to develop, manage
    and retain talent
  • Collaborate with Council’s Communication Team to maximise marketing and promotional
    opportunities and channels to source, attract potential employees.
  • Lead Council’s Employee Engagement and Wellbeing strategies, including but not limited to the
    delivery of Council’s Employee Engagement Surveys Assist with the consultation and development
    of improvement strategies and arising actions.
  • Produce engaging content to be shared internally, which includes important information, updates,
    changes and opportunistic training avenues, communicated internally via our internal
    communications streams.
  • Actively promote and demonstrate the core values and behavioural requirements of the Workplace
    Environment Statement.
  • Comply and remain up to date with Council’s Code of Conduct and stated Policies and Procedures,
    as amended from time to time.
  • Other duties as reasonably directed that aligns with the position’s core functions and capacity.

To be successful in this role you will have

  • Certificate IV in Human Resources or equivalent qualification and/or experience
  • Experience in a Human Resources environment, with particular emphasis on recruitment and
    selection, communication and engagement
  • General knowledge of employment-related legislation, industrial instruments and their application 
  • Sound working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of products including Word, Excel and
    PowerPoint 
  • Current Driver’s licence 
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and activities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Well-developed written and reporting skills 
  • Strong and effective communicator with a diverse range of people

The salary range being offered for the position of Human Resources Coordinator is per $3045 - $3427 fortnight (dependent on skills, qualifications
and experience) plus superannuation, an RDO every 4 weeks and
long service leave after 5 years.
