  • Salary: $88,494 - $101,649 gross p.a. plus 11.5% Super
  • 3% award pay increase in July 2025, with an additional 0.5% Super
  • 35 hours per week with the option of flexitime / Monday to Friday

About the Role
The Technical Officer - Survey/Design - Water Projects/Design assists with coordination of activities related to survey scoping for the Shoalhaven Water's Capital Works Program. The role provides technical survey advice and support to the Water Asset Planning & Development and Operational departments of Shoalhaven Water, for survey, set out, design and the development of tender documentation.

This is a 24-month contract, fixed-term position working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, generally, 7.30 am to 3.30 pm) and will be based at the Nowra Administration Building.

Reporting directly to the Projects & Design Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Carry out preliminary surveys, site investigations, and concept drawings for proposed capital works projects.
  • Undertake detailed surveys, site investigation, and detailed design to assist in the satisfactory completion of capital works projects.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of tender documentation.
  • Carry out assessment of projects, etc., to assist with the determination of acquisition requirements.
  • Prepare specifications for engagement of external surveyors to undertake surveys of property/projects and carry out the selection process.
  • Undertake special projects/ other duties commensurate with the skills and abilities of the job holder.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Survey/Spatial Information Services, or equivalent relevant to the position.
  • Experience in the civil engineering/ water industry - survey and design.
  • Current Safework NSW General Induction (White Card).
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence.
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship.
