About the Role

The RID Coordinator position is responsible for managing illegal dumping initiatives across the Shoalhaven local government area. This includes:

  • Identify and secure opportunities for grant funding
  • Develop and deliver educational and preventative programs to reduce illegal dumping
  • Patrol and monitor the Shoalhaven area to detect, deter and investigate illegal dumping
  • Respond to complaints and provide high quality guidance, education and solutions aligned with Council and EPA
  • Enforce relevant legislation including investigations, evidence gathering, issuing notices, preparing briefs and supporting court proceedings

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Local Government or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the management of illegal waste
  • Experience securing grant funding and managing compliance requirements
  • Experience delivering enforcement and education programs
  • NSW Workcover Construction Induction Certificate or ability to obtain
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Proof of right to work in Australia

We are looking for someone who is able to work independently to resolve complex matters and build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and agencies to support coordinated and proactive illegal dumping initiatives.
