About the Role

Manage a diverse portfolio of property matters and projects, including property acquisitions and disposals, road closures and dedications, easements, leases and licences. This role provides expert property advice and services to internal and external stakeholders while supporting the effective management of Council's property portfolio. This includes:

  • To provide technical property advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage a portfolio of tasks including land/easement acquisition/disposal, road closures, public road dedication, and transfer, granting of easements on public land, management of leases/licences and managing maintenance/minor works for leased property.
  • Undertake tenders and expressions of interest for proposed new agreements on Council property.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

This is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed as either Grade 9 or 10.

Grade 9 - $85,830.68 - $99,916.44 gross p.a. plus 12% Super

Grade 10 - $94,794.44 - $108,886.44 gross p.a. plus 12% Super

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

For all grades

  • Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Proof of right to work in Australia.
  • Recognised tertiary qualifications in the Property field i.e., Property Valuation, Property Management, Conveyancing or another related course and/or equivalent experience and related skills.

Grade 9

  • Awareness of the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act, Crown Land Management Act and Roads Act.
  • Demonstrated experience in any of the of the following: property management; conveyancing; acquisition and disposal of properties.
  • Ability to obtain recognised native title management training to satisfy Crown Land Management Act requirements after appointment.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage a diverse property portfolio.

Grade 10

  • Sound understanding of the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act, Crown Land Management Act and Roads Act.
  • Demonstrated experience in all the following: property management; acquisition and disposal of properties.
  • Previous experience working in property for a Government authority or at a law firm offering property law services.
  • Recognised training to satisfy requirements for native title management under the Crown Land Management Act 2016, or ability to obtain after commencement in the role.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage a diverse property portfolio independently.
