About the position:

The City is seeking a skilled and proactive Network & System Administrator to join the ICT Services Branch. This role is integral to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the City’s IT infrastructure, supporting staff across a diverse organisation. You will be responsible for providing technical support, managing user accounts, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the City’s systems infrastructure.

This position is offered as full-time permanent position to the successful candidate.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide support and maintain Windows Operating Systems and ensure alignment with best practices, standards, procedures.
  • Maintain user accounts, profiles, file shares, access privileges and security.
  • Maintain and support all hardware and software to ensure high levels of availability and security.
  • Establish and maintain user e-mail accounts, manage anti-spam, research and troubleshoot e-mail problems, provide solutions to customer identified problems.

Position requirements:

The successful candidate will have comprehensive experience working with Windows servers and server environments, as well as a strong understanding of virtualisation technologies, including storage and SAN. A relevant tertiary qualification is preferred; however, equivalent experience will be considered.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $89,127 per annum or $45.1046 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
