The Role
As the Manager – Infrastructure Services, you will provide leadership, direction and accountability for the Infrastructure Services Unit, ensuring the delivery of responsive, customer-focused infrastructure services across the city.
Reporting to the Director, you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for roads, traffic, stormwater, open space, trees, development engineering and development application referrals. You will work collaboratively with Executive leaders, Councillors and key stakeholders to improve service delivery, lead organisational transformation and support strategic decision-making.
This role is at the heart of how Council delivers for our community by shaping essential infrastructure services that people rely on every day to create a safer, more connected and customer focused outcomes that make a real difference.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team delivering infrastructure services across roads, traffic, stormwater, open space, trees and development engineering
- Drive a customer-first approach through the continuous improvement of end-to-end business processes, systems and service delivery
- Oversee the coordination and delivery of infrastructure-related customer requests, applications and operational services
- Coordinate the Local Traffic Forum and Road Safety Program
- Manage development application referrals relating to traffic, engineering and tree assessments
- Provide strategic and operational advice to the Director to support the delivery of departmental priorities and organisational objectives
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, developers and the community
- Lead change initiatives that improve organisational capability, service delivery and customer outcomes
- Manage operational and financial performance, ensuring effective resource planning, budget management and accountability

You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, infrastructure management, civil engineering, asset management or a related discipline with a minimum of 10 years’ experience
- Significant leadership experience managing multidisciplinary infrastructure or engineering teams
- Demonstrated experience leading organisational change, continuous improvement and customer-focused service delivery
- Strong understanding of local government infrastructure services, including roads, traffic, stormwater, open space, development engineering, NSW Local Government Act and the NSW Roads Act
- Proven ability to lead complex operational programs while balancing competing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to form positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, groups, organisation and individuals
- Demonstrated financial management and budget experience
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Advanced strategic thinking, problem solving and decision-making capability
Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
