Title: Business Support Officer, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week

Salary Range: $85745.17 to $99650.39 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

The Community Transport, Parking and Fleet team is responsible for coordinating the business, administrative and operational functions for Council’s transport and parking services across the Northern Beaches. This includes the Hop Skip Jump community bus service, Council-owned car parks, beach and reserve paid parking, parking permits and pre-paid parking accounts, supporting accessible, convenient and customer-focused transport and parking outcomes across the region.

 

The team provides timely, accurate and customer-focused advice and support to both internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely and in line with Council objectives and operational priorities across the broader service area.

Our opportunity:

The key focus areas of this role include: 

  1. Deliver responsive administrative and operational support across the service, including customer enquiries, parking permits, pre-paid parking accounts and day-to-day service activities.
  2. Support the effective delivery of the Hop Skip Jump service through scheduling, roster coordination, operational administration and communication with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders.
  3. Investigate and resolve customer enquiries and operational issues through research, problem solving and collaboration with Parking Attendants, contractors and internal business units to achieve timely and accurate outcomes.
  4. Contribute to service improvements, minor projects and operational initiatives through collaboration, process review and practical recommendations that enhance systems, processes and customer experience.
  5. Support procurement, financial and business operations through the administration of purchase orders, invoice receipting, reporting, data management and other operational support activities to ensure accurate and efficient service delivery.

 

About you:

You are an organised and customer-focused administration professional who enjoys working in a busy operational environment where no 2 days are the same. You are confident managing competing priorities, communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and delivering accurate, timely and responsive support services.

You bring strong administrative and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, use initiative and build effective working relationships across teams. You are comfortable dealing with customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally, including in situations that may be challenging or sensitive.

Ideally, you will have experience in administrative or operational support, including customer service, scheduling, financial administration, procurement or business support functions.

Experience in parking, transport, local government or operational service environments will be highly regarded.
