As a Business Development and Event Officer, you will join a small venue management team responsible for coordinating and delivering events and programs that activate the newly refurbished Camden Civic Centre. This role focuses on identifying opportunities, building initiatives and supporting venue activation strategies that contribute to the economic sustainability of the Civic Centre while delivering high-quality experiences for the community. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where innovation, customer service and attention to detail are valued every day.
You will bring strong business development capability, a customer-focused mindset and the ability to manage competing priorities with professionalism and confidence. Essential:
- Bachelors degree in business, marketing or a related field and/or commensurate experience in sales, account management or business development.
- Demonstrated experience in development and delivery of large-scale events and programming with an understanding of budget, cost control, and pricing.
- Demonstrated experience identifying new income streams and meeting sales or revenue targets.
- High level customer service skills including a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with promoters, clients, stakeholders and internal teams. .
- High level professional communication skills, written, verbal and presentation.
- Current driver licence.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the local government environment including policy framework.
- Experience using CRM, venue management software, financial management and event management systems.
- Experience working independently and in an agile, small and flexible team.
