Tenure - This is a permanent full-time position working a 9-day fortnight with a regular rostered day off.

Salary from - $80,937 up to $88,096 per annum plus superannuation

(Salary will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)

The opportunity

Join our Open Space team and play a key role in keeping our parks and public spaces looking their best. As a Tractor Mower Operator, you'll help maintain and enhance Council's open spaces, creating safe, high-quality environments the community can enjoy year-round. This is a hands-on role generally operating from 6:30am to 2:45pm, where you'll work across a variety of sites, often independently, while staying connected with a supportive team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Operate tractors, plant and park maintenance equipment safely and efficiently
  • Carry out mowing, turf care and seasonal parks maintenance activities
  • Use and change implements, including three-point linkage attachments
  • Maintain equipment and identify safety or environmental hazards
  • Manage your own work areas while collaborating with the wider team
  • Deliver friendly, professional service when interacting with the public

About you

You're a skilled and reliable operator who takes pride in your work and enjoys working outdoors. With experience in tractor mowing, you're confident working independently, managing your time, and delivering quality results. You have a strong safety mindset and communicate well with team members and the community. You take a respectful, approachable attitude when interacting with the public and consistently live Council's values in everything you do. Physically capable and hands-on, you're comfortable with repetitive manual tasks and bring solid numeracy and literacy skills to support your day-to-day work. You're also flexible and willing to support operational needs, including the opportunity for occasional overtime and weekend work.

You will bring:

  • A current C Class Driver's Licence
  • WH&S General Construction Induction (White Card)
