JOB DESCRIPTION
Support Head of Strategic Revenue in delivering the intended revenue improvements as described in Project 26. Some of the revenue described include but are not limited to Sports fields; Aquatic / Swimming Centres; Carparks; Childcare; Libraries; Circular Economy Centre; and other council services.
Some of the revenue initiatives described include, but are not limited to:
- Manufacturing Green Ceramics
- Distilling Resin
- Truck Wash / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Centre
- Emergency Services Maintenance Yard
- Open Space Maintenance (Other Councils)
Key responsibilities:
- Contributes to emerging commercial initiatives including Green Ceramics manufacturing, Resin distillation, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Centre, Emergency Services Maintenance Yard, and inter‑council open space maintenance.
- Identifies new revenue opportunities and assists in managing relationships between service providers and Council.
- Provides practical advice and support to internal teams on revenue‑related matters.
- Supports Value for Money assessments in line with the NSW Local Government Act and relevant guidelines.
- Contributes to revenue‑focused projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assists with developing, maintaining, and updating revenue tracking and reporting tools.
- Gathers data and insights to identify opportunities for revenue growth or expansion.
- Maintains accurate records and supports reporting against revenue targets.
- Assists with implementing technology‑based improvements, including automation, to enhance revenue processes and customer experience.
This is a High‑trust, autonomous role accountable for delivering measurable revenue performance improvements across Council services.
ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will have:
- Qualifications in finance and/or project management and/or significant demonstrable experience in one or more of the following:
- Identifying revenue outcomes
- Financial forecasting or management
- Commercial Instruments
- Contract Management
- Stakeholder Management
- Demonstrated understanding of Local Government operations or experience working within State Government, ASX-listed companies, or other large, complex organisations with comparable governance, stakeholder, and operational requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in sales and revenue generating activities, including identifying growth opportunities, building strategic partnerships, negotiating commercial outcomes, and delivering sustainable revenue growth.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross‑functional teams, with the ability to work independently, operate effectively in high‑trust environments, and influence or negotiate revenue outcomes.
- Foundational knowledge or demonstrated interest in commercial arrangements available to councils, such as partnerships, joint ventures, and collaborative commercial models.
- Class C Drivers Licence
