- One full-time permanent position and one full-time 6-month fixed-term position available
- 38 hours per week (Monday to Sunday) with a 9-day fortnight
- Annual salary range: $66,775 - $89,196 gross plus 12% superannuation and allowances

About the Role
Shoalhaven City Council is seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our Ranger Services Team. We have one full-time permanent position and one full-time 6-month fixed-term position available.
As part of the Ranger Services team, you will:
- Patrol the Shoalhaven region to detect and deter illegal activities, including environmental protection, animal management, and parking enforcement.
- Respond to community complaints and provide accurate information and education.
- Enforce legislation through investigations, issuing notices, and initiating legal action where required.
- Assist emergency services and contribute to enforcement programs and operational planning.
- Promote child safety by recognising, responding to, and reporting concerns.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold Council policies and procedures.

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.
This is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed as either Grade 5 or 8.
Grade 5 - Salary: $66,775 - $75,052 gross p.a. plus 12% Super
Grade 8 - Salary: $79,354 - $89,196 gross p.a. plus 12% Super
About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:
For all grades
- Current Class C Driver's Licence
- Proof of right to work in Australia
- A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Grade 5
- Enrolled in Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent / or ability to obtain such a qualification within set timeframe.
- Demonstrated knowledge about enforcement.
- NSW Workcover Construction Induction Certificate or ability to obtain.
Grade 8 (Step 1 - 2)
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation and policy.
- NSW Workcover Construction Induction Certificate or ability to obtain.
Grade 8 (Step 3 - 4)
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation and policy.
- NSW Workcover Construction Induction Certificate or ability to obtain.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and supporting staff in a regulatory or operational environment.
- Experience coordinating staff and allocating work to achieve operational objectives.
You are a community-focused professional with strong communication, problem-solving and customer service skills, capable of managing challenging situations with confidence and professionalism.
