About the Role
This role is responsible for delivering a broad range of maintenance, operations, and support services across the Shoalhaven Community and Recreational Precinct (SCaRP), including sport fields, leisure centres, destination parks, and showgrounds. The position involves operating plant, equipment, and light vehicles to undertake grounds maintenance, property upkeep, and commercial cleaning, while ensuring facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented.

Working under the direction of the Precinct Supervisor, the role also contributes to infrastructure installation and repairs, traffic control, goods handling, security checks, and hygiene standards. A strong focus on teamwork, safety, and proactive identification of maintenance or risk issues is essential. The main duties for this role includes:

  • Installation and maintenance work, that may include hand digging, mowing operations, tree pruning, park maintenance, irrigation systems maintenance and installation, and an ability to work on above ground platforms and ladders.
  • Traffic control
  • Operate allocated plant, such as (but not limited to): truck, tractor, elevated work platform, hydraulic gang mowers, water tankers, herbicide sprayers, ride-on mowers, & heavy-duty chippers,
  • Use hand tools and machines, such as mowers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, pumps, brush cutters & herbicide spraying equipment.
  • Property Maintenance o Conduct building maintenance, repair, and improvements. o Hang wall fixtures, carry out gardening and other duties as required.
  • Accept responsibility for and coordinate own work area.
  • Identify and report any suspicious activities or potential fraud encountered during interactions with the public.

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position

About You
To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Turf Management, Nursery Practice, Commercial Cleaning or equivalent experience
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover)
  • Minimum NSW Class C Driver's Licence or equivalent licence valid in NSW
  • Proof of right to work in Australia

An MR licence is highly desirable.
