SALARY: $32,708.62 - 37,482.94 p.a. + Super
Work Type: Temporary Part Time (14 hours per week) - up to 12 months
Location: Camden Libraries - Camden, Narellan and Oran Park

We are looking for an innovative, highly motivated and talented staff member, who is passionate about customer service, to fill this role of Local Studies Librarian. This is a great opportunity for you to join the Camden Council Library Services Team to promote Council and engage the local community.
To be successful you will need to have a proven track record and also have a broad understanding of the provision of contemporary library services and facilities to an astute and growing population.

Essential:
- Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Science or equivalent recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
- Demonstrated Library experience working in a customer service role with proven communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Proven experience in the delivery of local studies and knowledge of local studies trends in Libraries. - Demonstrated experience and understanding of technology related to local studies, including library management systems, digitisation practices, and social networking technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively organise and prioritise workloads.
- Demonstrated ability to determine library customer needs and achieve quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team environment with a customer focus.
- Proven ability to engage with all library customers and communicate effectively to provide high quality customer service
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate resources and plan programs for local heritage.
- General knowledge of Library policies, practices and relevant legislation, and current trends in public libraries, local heritage and family history services.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment including new and emerging technologies.
- Current Drivers Licence and Working with Children Check.
- Demonstrated ability to apply EEO and WHS principles.
Desirable:
- Experience in cataloguing.
- Knowledge of school syllabus requirements for local studies.
- Grant writing experience
