Title: Kerbside Recovery Operator, Temporary - Full-time Role, 38 hours per week

Salary Range: $69168.4 to $80384.88 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

Northern Beaches Council is currently implementing its new Waste and Circular Economy Strategy which includes a broad spectrum of waste management services and projects including domestic waste collection, community facilities development, events, education and workshops. Waste Services is also actively involved in the review of development applications to ensure we are building new residential developments for future sustainability.

Our Opportunity:
The key focus areas of this role include: 
1)    Operation of heavy plant and manual tasks in line with WHS legislation and Chain of Responsibility Guidelines ensuring safety of the team and public.
2)    Effectively identify, separate and collect target items for recycling or reuse to enable Council to meet targets in its Waste and Circular Economy Strategy.
3)    Efficient collection of illegally dumped materials (and other associated activities) to maintain amenity and maximise recovery
4)    Provide assistance with other duties of the waste management and cleansing team as required, such as domestic waste services, emergency responses or other waste trials or projects contributing to Council’s overall waste management and cleansing objectives. 
5)    This is a temporary appointment of up to three years.

We’re looking for an organised and proactive team player to join our Public Waste & Cleansing Team. You’ll bring strong hands-on experiences and communications skills to a team passionate about making a difference to our community.
