Grants and Contributions Accountant
Full-time - Ongoing

 

Position Number: 10030                   Location: Queanbeyan

The Package: $90,513.00 - $108,913.36 gross per annum (Inclusive of market premium) + 11% super. (Evaluated as Grade 14 of the QPRC Salary System 2023) and guaranteed increases of 3.5% in 2024-25 and 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full-time – 35 hours per week. Flex time conditions may apply.

Are you a finance professional looking to develop your skills within a dedicated and high-performing team? Council is looking for a Grants and Contributions Accountant to work in our Finance Team.

 

In this role you will:

  • Maintain Councils’ Grants register, contracts liabilities and contract assets register.
  • Provide financial reports based on reconciliation of accounts, and journal processing.
  • Prepare financial work papers, reconciliations, and reports over developer contributions income, project expenses, and balances held in reserve.
  • Provide training, guidance, and information to Council Officers to explain grant management responsibilities, systems, and procedures.

 

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Accredited Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Commerce
  • Experience in preparing financial statements per Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Experience in financial planning, project accounting, and budgetary control.
  • The provision of a high level of customer service and advice.
  • Experience using the Local Government finance environment and TechnologyOne will be highly regarded.
