Graduate GIS
The Opportunity:
Maitland City Council's Pathways program is a fantastic way to kick-start your career and gain professional experience in local government!
Commencing in January 2027, for a period of two years, we are looking for a Graduate GIS to join our organisation.
In this role, you will undertake a graduate program developed specifically for you, giving you exposure to a range of GIS projects undertaken by Council. This role will see you assisting with the provision of spatial layers, extracting data, developing GIS user workspaces, as well as supporting our clients by developing templates and the provision of maps. These duties are going to help you develop a solid foundation to your GIS career!
About you:
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Degree level qualifications in Spatial Information Science in the previous two years or completion of degree by January 2027
- Contemporary industry knowledge of geographical and spatial information systems
- Demonstrated experience in report writing, written communication and oral communication skills
- Solid demonstrated computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite

This Graduate position is temporary full time (two-year contract) with a weekly commencing salary of $1,414.58 weekly, plus 12% p.a. superannuation. Graduates will also have access to Council's great staff benefits, benefits including:
