Finance Business Partner

Maitland City Council is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team for a 12-month temporary full-time opportunity.

The Opportunity

As a Finance Business Partner at Maitland City Council, you will be working closely with executive leaders and managers, supporting informed decision making through accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will ensure financial practices align with regulatory requirements and support the Council's strategic and operational objectives.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering financial sustainability and value for money outcomes for the community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Degree qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Business or related discipline.

- Experience in management accounting, budgeting and financial reporting, ideally within Local Government or public sector.

- Ability to develop and maintain strong productive professional relationships with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

- The ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively.

- Highly developed computer literary (Technology One accounting software experience will be highly regarded), including the ability to identify opportunities for business improvements within systems.

- CPA / CA qualification (or working towards) would be highly regarded.

Benefits

This temporary full-time position for a period of 12 months and has a salary range of $91,166 up to $101,194 per year + 12% p.a. super.
