Communications Officer
The role will partner with Council business units to tell their story to the Hills Shire community and beyond.

What this role looks like:
• Partner with Council business units to tell Council’s story and oversee all marketing and communications related to specific portfolios.
• Respond to media inquiries as directed by the Principal Coordinator Media and Communications.
• Create a broad range of content, including stories, articles, social media tiles, graphics, photos and videos for Council.
• Collaborate with teams to develop and implement innovative digital marketing strategies to promote the activities, objectives and decisions of Council.
What are we seeking in our new team member:
• A communications all-rounder who enjoys creating content for media, web, socials and everything in between.
• Tertiary qualifications in Arts, Marketing, Social Media, Communications, Journalism or similar.
• Minimum of 2 years’ of experience in Communications and/ or journalist role.
• Ability to write competently and concisely, understand storytelling and content creation and strong editorial copy skills.
• Competency in using Canva or a similar design platform for producing social media tiles is desirable.
