Coordinator Outreach Programs

Posted: 4 days ago
Closes: 09 Nov

Connecting people, culture, and knowledge.

Libraries connect people with learning, culture, services, and each other. As Coordinator Outreach Programs, you take library services beyond our branches, helping children, young people, multicultural communities, older residents, and people who face barriers to accessing services.

This role is strategic, with high experience leading an outreach team across Multicultural and Children’s Collections, Home Library, Mobile Library, Youth and Aged Services. You will plan and deliver outreach and literacy programs, manage specialist collections and coordinate services for people who are sight impaired or frail aged. You can coach staff, support their development and make sure services respond to community needs.

This role builds relationships with schools, community organisations, health providers, and cultural groups to extend the reach of library services. You represent the library service in community networks, identify emerging needs, and use these insights to shape programs and services. You also contribute to budgets, service planning, and improvements across Library Services.

Through this work, you will make learning, culture and library services more accessible, strengthen community connections and create more opportunities for people to participate.

At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:

  • a term contract, full-time role up to December 2028 with one of Australia's largest councils
  • an entry level salary commencing at $2,347.81 per week
  • a 35-hour working week
  • a car allowance
  • access to Council's flextime arrangement
  • 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
  • ongoing training and development support
  • access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
