About the role
Join Clarence Valley Council as our new Coordinator Emergency Management & Resilience. As a key member of our team, you will lead Council's emergency management preparedness and community resilience activities, working across all phases of emergency management to ensure our organisation and community are ready to face future challenges. From coordinating and updating our Local Emergency Management Plan and building partnerships with community groups, to engaging stakeholders across all levels of government and driving initiatives that strengthen community preparedness, your work will directly benefit our community.

This is a varied and rewarding role that calls for someone who thrives on building relationships across all levels of government and the community, can navigate complex information with clarity and confidence, and is ready to step up when it matters most.

When emergencies occur, you will perform the legislated duties of the Local Emergency Management Officer, supporting the activation of the Emergency Operations Centre and Council's response and recovery efforts.

Participation in a rotating roster as the designated Local Emergency Management Officer (LEMO), sharing 24-hour availability on a week-long rotational basis with other LEMO officers within Council. An allowance will be paid in recognition of this requirement. The role also requires out-of-hours and weekend work as necessary.

Other important information
This position is located at Council's Rushforth Road Works Depot, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.
