TRAINEE CIVIL DESIGN OFFICER
About the Opportunity

Commencing in June 2026, for a period of two years, we are looking for a Civil Design Officer Trainee to join our organisation.
In this role, you will work within our Design team to assist with the delivery of civil engineering design projects, provide accurate and efficient design documentation and advice for projects and works which are compliant with relevant standards, legislation, and budgets. A key part of your role will be to prepare concept and detailed design plans including use of 2D & 3D modelling for minor/simple civil infrastructure projects.
About You
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Eligibility to complete a traineeship (please read role charter to make sure you are eligible before applying)
- Genuine interest in civil design and engineering
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and demonstrated initiative
- Provisional or full licence by the commencement of employment (June 2026).
Benefits
This is a full time, temporary role working a 35-hour week, with a salary range of $36,800.40 up to $49,280.40 per year + 12% super. Commencing salary is dependent on age and/or previous education.
Council also covers the cost of all TAFE fees, pays you to attend TAFE and study, and gives trainees access to staff benefits such as flexible working arrangements & fitness passport.
