Exciting opportunity for a

About the role

Our Waste
and Resource Recovery Team is seeking a passionate, community‑focused
professional to help deliver innovative waste and recycling programs that
support the transition to a circular economy. This role plays a vital part in
reducing waste, increasing recycling, minimising contamination, and eliminating
litter across the municipality, in alignment with the State Government’s
Circular Economy Policy.

Working
closely with internal teams, external partners and the community, you will
drive positive behaviour change through education, engagement and practical, on‑the‑ground
initiatives.

You are a
motivated professional with a proven track record in delivering high‑quality
community engagement and behaviour change programs. You are an attentive
listener with strong written and verbal communication skills, and you thrive in
a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Your ability to build effective
relationships enables you to confidently engage with a diverse range of
stakeholders, including community members, contractors, businesses and
government partners.

Skills and experience

  • Qualification in a relevant field or several
    years of applicable experience in the areas of environmental education and
    behaviour change projects and initiatives.
  • An experienced listener with high level skills
    in communication.
  • Advanced oral, written and listening
    communication skills, including public speaking.
  • A team player, committed to best practice and
    continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management and able
    to work alone and as part of a small team.
  • Solutions focused with proven ability to problem
    solve complex issues.
  • An ability to work well within a team and
    successfully contribute to work area outcomes.
  • Proficiency with computers and using Microsoft
    Office Applications.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to
    detail.
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend work.
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence.
  • Current Working with Children’s Check.
