About The Role
The Accountant Cadet role is designed for individuals who are currently studying accounting or a related discipline. This position supports the delivery of financial services across the Council and offers structured, on-the-job training and development, paving the way for progression towards professional accounting accreditation.
In this role, you will be involved in various core finance functions, including financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting while gaining valuable experience in local government.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for motivated candidates who are committed to their studies and eager to contribute to our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and analytical skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Currently pursuing a tertiary qualification in accounting, commerce, or business (e.g., Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting).
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving professional accreditation in accounting.
- Strong verbal, written, and listening skills for effective communication.
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service and collaborate with team members.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality.

- Package:From$61,515 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
- Hours of work:Temporary Full Time. Opportunity expected to be available for up to 2 years.You will have the option of a 19 day month through Council’s flex system.
