Visitor Services Guide

  • Salary $65,811.17 - $76,341.17 p/a + super (pro-rata)
  • Permanent Part time role - 21 hours per week
  • Working with Children Check Clearance

About Ku-ring-gai Council

Located 16 km’s north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.

 

About the role

Reporting to the Team Leader Venues, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of environmental education and interpretive activity programs at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden.

 

Duties

  • Help to deliver environmental education activities such as bush birthday parties, school excursions, school holiday activities and workshops
  • Assist in program development of environmental education activities and responding to public enquiries
  • Help maintain outdoor facilities, education resources and natural areas at the Ku-ring-gai Wildflower Garden
  • Assist with care of captive native fauna
  • Assist with visitor orientation and public liaison including Visitor Centre operations
  • Assist with venue hire including setup and cleaning as well as Council events

 

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a related discipline such as

ecology, biology, teaching, tourism, or conservation

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • In-depth knowledge of native flora, fauna and ecosystems
  • Experience and ability in environmental education and interpretation with children and adults
  • High level customer service skills
