Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated individual to join the Engineering Department of Forbes Shire Council in a full-time position. It should be noted that Council can offer flexibility in the spread of hours to the successful candidate.

Reporting directly to the Manager Water, the aim of this new position in Council's Organisational Structure is to undertake the development and implementation of Council's Liquid Trade Waste Policy on behalf of Forbes Shire Council and the community. In this position, you will work both independently and as part of the Water Team to achieve timely and appropriate outcomes in relation to Trade Waste and Backflow Prevention initiatives.

Essential

  • High level organisation and time management skills
  • High level Microsoft Office abilities
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse stakeholder group;
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in negotiation and conflict resolution;
  • Department Primary Industries – Trade Waste Regulations Courses (desirable) or ability to obtain;
  • Qualification – Cross Connection Auditing (desirable) or ability to obtain;
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card) or the ability to obtain;
  • Class C (Standard) Drivers Licence.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position including knowledge of the water / waste water industry and the operation of sewerage treatment and/or pre-treatment systems (desired);
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and application of the Liquid Trade Waste Regulation Guidelines (desired);
  • Familiarity of the Plumbing Code of Australia and understanding of AS3500 (desired);
  • Demonstrated experience in water quality monitoring and data interpretation (desired).

Remuneration is between $64000 to $86000 + Additional Benefits
