ABOUT THE ROLE

Position

Council is offering a great opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead and coordinate Council’s Water and Wastewater Treatment and Mechanical Services team to ensure the efficient and high-quality delivery of essential water and wastewater services to the Ballina community.

You will play a key role in leading daily operations, coordinating maintenance programs, and ensuring the reliable performance of critical treatment infrastructure. This hands-on leadership position offers the opportunity to motivate and support a skilled team while ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.

To be successful you will bring

  • Proven knowledge of operations and maintenance practices for water and wastewater treatment service delivery, including wastewater treatment plants.
  • Proven knowledge of regulatory environment for delivery of water and wastewater treatment services.
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to manage and lead teams.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of contract management and procurement.
  • Proven experience in budget administration and project management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high level customer service.

The rewards

  • A salary range of $92,600 to $106,200 per annum (plus 12% superannuation), dependent upon experience, skills and qualifications. This is applicable to a 9 day fortnight work arrangement, and incorporates the payment of five hours of approved overtime per fortnight according to Council’s Annual Salary Agreement.
