The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a skilled and innovative individual to carry out strategic and operational asset management functions for BVSC’s civil infrastructure with the primary focus on bridges, major culverts, and marine structures.

As a Structures Engineer, you will carry out the role of Civil Structures subject matter expert, providing timely and accurate advice as required. Support the Civil Assets Coordinator in the development of the Strategic Asset Management Plan, including NAM’s modelling. You will ensure adherence to the adopted Asset Management Plan and Long Term Financial Plan and develop scopes suitable for external contract delivery and concept project estimates for budget consideration.

About You

We are seeking an individual who holds a degree qualification in Civil Engineering (Structures) or closely related discipline and 7 years' recent related experience and has high level skills in Asset Management and Risk Management principles related to marine and civil infrastructure.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Demonstrated experience in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and cost allocations including long term financial planning
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of bridge asset condition assessment and quality assurance and project scoping
  • Proficient in interpreting relevant acts, specifications, policies and codes relating to civil projects and works
  • High level competence in the use of software relating to project management, asset management and databases

Benefits

This is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $121,129.32 gross per annum (inclusive), comprising of:

  • $2,016.80 per week base salary
  • $242.02 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
  • $70.59 per week Civil Liability Allowance (calculated at 3.5%)
