Permanent, Full-Time 35 hours, 5 days/week Competitive Salary Civic Place, Liverpool
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position plays a key role in delivering and supporting Council's enterprise IT infrastructure, cloud platforms and technology transformation initiatives. Working within a modern Microsoft-based environment, you will contribute to infrastructure modernisation, cloud adoption, cybersecurity improvements and the delivery of strategic technology projects while ensuring reliable day-to-day operations.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to support continuous improvement and innovation across IT systems and infrastructure.
- Support, monitor and maintain Council's server, cloud, storage, virtualization and network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance and security.
- Take ownership of the testing, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and related infrastructure.
- Contribute to the delivery of IT projects, ensuring solutions are implemented effectively and meet business requirements.
- Apply and promote best practices in IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity and operational excellence.
- Ensure all systems and processes comply with organisational policies, standards, and security procedures.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience, and a current Class C Driver License.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure within a medium to large organisation.
- Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, FortiGate, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM, Microsoft Intune, VMware/Hyper-V and Veeam.
- Experience developing automation using PowerShell or other scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining security baselines, patch management, vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening in accordance with Council's cybersecurity standards
- Strong knowledge of servers, network, and cloud infrastructure, including security and data protection principles.
- Proven experience in infrastructure planning, change management, technical documentation and operational support.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritisation, and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of WHS, EEO, and ethical work practices.

The salary (within the above-mentioned range) will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.
