JOB DESCRIPTION
Liverpool City Council is seeking two experienced Landscape Planners (Master Plans) on a 2-year contract to lead the planning, development and delivery of master plans for parks, sporting fields and open spaces across our growing city.

In this role, you will undertake site analysis, technical investigations and strategic planning to identify opportunities that enhance recreation, environmental and community outcomes. You will prepare high-quality master plans, Plans of Management, concept designs and supporting documentation that guide future investment, project delivery and long-term asset management.

Working closely with community groups, sporting clubs, government agencies, Traditional Owners, consultants and internal stakeholders, you will lead engagement activities to ensure plans reflect community needs and create inclusive, accessible and sustainable open spaces. You will also contribute to business cases, grant applications, cost planning and capital works programs, helping to turn strategic vision into deliverable projects. ABOUT YOU
Our desired candidate will possess the following:

  • University Degree in Landscape Architecture, or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
  • Experience in leading open space and recreation planning projects, including master plans for complex and significant sites.
  • Attention to detail and a desire to deliver work to a high standard.
  • Understanding of legislation and industry standards relevant to open space and recreation planning.
  • High level skills and experience in project management, with the ability to successfully manage a complex and dynamic workload.
  • High level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple consultants, including briefing and report coordination.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of problem-solving skills.

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, practical, outcome-focused, have good stakeholder management skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage a complex and dynamic workload. You will also need to have good written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software packages (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).

Salary within the above-specified range, will be dependent on the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.
