The Opportunity

As the Senior Asset Management Officer in the City of Perth, you will play a key role in the development and management of the City’s Asset Information System, supporting an infrastructure asset portfolio valued at approximately $1.26 billion. You will provide specialist advice relating to asset ownership, risk, liabilities and asset management practices, while ensuring critical asset data is accurately captured and integrated across corporate systems and GIS platforms.

Reporting to the Lead Asset Management within our Infrastructure and Assets team, your responsibilities would primarily include:

  • Leading the collection, maintenance and reporting of asset management data across the City’s infrastructure and buildings assets;
  • Providing specialist advice regarding asset ownership, liabilities, valuation and asset management practices;
  • Collaborating with internal project teams and external stakeholders to ensure asset data standards and handover requirements are met; and
  • Supporting strategic asset planning through reporting, system improvements and long-term financial management initiatives.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Experience applying asset management practices within local government or a similar environment;
  • Experience using asset management systems, GIS platforms and analysing asset data;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to improve business processes and systems; and
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
