About the Role

This role supports the organisation by ensuring Council's corporate records are managed, maintained and accessible in accordance with legislative requirements. Working in a customer‑focused team, the position contributes to accurate and timely records management, including the storage, sentencing and disposal of inactive records, while supporting the integrity and continuous improvement of Council's records management system. This includes:

  • Archival management including appraisal and sentencing, research and analysis, arrangement and description, custody and access, conservation and planning.
  • Interpretation and application of disposal authorities and other legislative instruments and regulatory standards governing the use and retention of Council records.
  • Maintain Council's archival storage area (including designated off-site areas where applicable) in an orderly manner and ensuring that future space requirements are calculated and, where appropriate, reported to management.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification in archiving, information/records management or relevant demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Current class C Driver's Licence
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
