This is your chance to build and deliver bigger, more complex projects than you’ll typically find elsewhere with the scope to work across a wide variety of infrastructure, from bridges through to major assets. You’ll plan, coordinate and drive delivery, working with contractors, consultants and internal teams to keep projects safe, compliant, and moving forward.
This role suits someone who has demonstrated experience working within an NSW local government or similar public‑sector delivery environment, or a graduate who has completed or is completing an engineering qualification in Australia and has a sound understanding of Australian standards, project delivery practices and local government frameworks.
You'll find growth through:

Delivering diverse civil engineering projects, from pre‑planning and design reviews through to construction and completion, across the Dubbo Regional Council area.

Building strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, consultants and the community to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to standard.

Developing your project and contract management capability, including cost estimating, scheduling, compliance and stakeholder engagement.

Learning on the job, supported by a collaborative engineering team, mentoring, and access to professional development and CPD opportunities.

Working on bigger, more complex projects than you’ll typically find elsewhere, with the backing of a strong internal structure and experienced leaders.
What you'll bring
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in civil
engineering project/contract delivery. - Ability to supervise and manage staff demonstrating good teamwork, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated experience in project and contract management with the ability to organise and manage
conflicting work priorities. - Well-developed report writing and communication skills.
We would also love you to have:
- Local Government experience
- Post graduate qualifications.
- Experience in managing the RMCC on Council’s behalf and Transport for NSW contracts

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $96,537 to $112,191. A leaseback vehicle is also available.
