THE JOB
As our Plumber in Building Services, you’ll deliver planned
and reactive maintenance, repairs and modifications to plumbing installations
and equipment across Council facilities - ensuring assets are fit for purpose
and operate as intended. You’ll inspect jobs, diagnose issues, estimate and
order materials, and plan work efficiently to achieve quality outcomes within
time and budget.
You’ll also complete inspections and reporting to support
compliance with WHS requirements, local authority regulations and relevant
Australian Standards (including AS/NZS 3500). At times you’ll supervise and
support other staff and external contractors, assess the need for work method
statements and safe systems of work, and manage customer requests by
undertaking repairs or recommending the best solution.

ABOUT YOU
You’re a capable, hands-on plumber who works safely,
communicates clearly, and takes pride in leaving every job compliant and customer
ready. You’ll be comfortable working in domestic, commercial and/or industrial
environments, including reactive maintenance, and you can supervise others and
verify workmanship against relevant standards. You must also have:
- Certificate III in Plumbing and a NSW Fair
Trading contractor licence in Plumbing, Drainage and Gasfitting - Backflow prevention and Thermostatic Mixing
Valves statement of attainment (or willingness to obtain) - Strong working knowledge of plumbing standards,
products and installation techniques, including interpreting plans and
specifications - Experience using CCTV/locating equipment and
water jetting equipment - Current Class C driver licence, White Card (WHS
General Induction), and confidence using tablets/technology in the field.
