LET’S EXPLORE THE JOB
You’ll undertake reactive and planned maintenance, repairs and minor modifications to electrical installations, plant and equipment across Council buildings to ensure assets are fit for purpose and operate as intended. You’ll inspect and report on works to maintain compliance with relevant safety and electrical standards (including AS/NZS 3000), and plan jobs efficiently by selecting the right labour, materials, plant and safe work method documentation.
You’ll also estimate jobs, order materials, and complete minor electrical installation design work when required. Working closely with internal customers, you’ll inspect reported issues, undertake repairs, or provide clear recommendations - while supporting and supervising team members and external contractors to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU
You’re a trade-qualified electrician who takes pride in safe, compliant quality of work and great service. You can work independently, plan and prioritise jobs, and communicate clearly with customers, contractors and other utility authorities. You’re also comfortable checking the work of others and providing practical guidance on site.
You must also meet the following criteria:
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
- Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation (or willingness to obtain)
- Electrical Contractor Licence with Qualified Supervisor Certificate endorsement
- Extensive experience across domestic, commercial and/or industrial environments, including reactive maintenance and supervision
- Sound knowledge of relevant standards and the ability to read, interpret and apply electrical plans and specifications
- Commitment to safety, including understanding of WHS and environmental policies and procedures (WHS General Induction for Construction Work in NSW issued from 2001)
- High-level communication skills, including liaising with other utility authorities (e.g., Ausgrid, Hunter Water, RMS)
- Demonstrated numeracy, literacy and computer skills (including tablets and similar technology)
- Class C Driver Licence
