Parks Maintenance Crew Leader

Salary
$71,448.85 to $83,918.94 per annum (inclusive of loading) (based on 76 hours per fortnight) plus superannuation and an RDO each fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the role
As the Parks Maintenance Crew Leader, you will
- Supervise and coach the team to execute core Council services whilst developing the capability within the team
- Respond to work orders for park maintenance matters by undertaking and supervising a broad range of works on Council and park assets
- Monitor the condition of Council and park assets and coordinate necessary maintenance including measuring and ordering of materials to complete the works. Report Council asset hazards and faults to inform asset owner of issue
- Undertake care, maintenance and storage of resources including tools, plant and equipment, ensuring safe and appropriate use
- Undertake Parks Service Unit activities ensuring Work Health and Safety legislative requirements are met. Provide oversight to the crew to ensure all Council Work Health and Safety procedures are followed whilst undertaking Parks Service Unit activities
- Report completion of park maintenance activities against allocated work order
- Assist other crews to support the completion of Parks Service Unit and Council activities
Position requirements
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current C class Driver’s licence
- General Construction Induction Card and Current Basic First Aid Certificate
- AQF3 Chem Certificate
- Experience in undertaking park maintenance activities using small plant
- Understanding and knowledge of safety practices to be able to implement WH&S requirements to work sites
- Previous experience in a supervisory role in an outdoor environment
- Ability to use electronics systems and processes to manage day to day operations
About you
We are seeking an individual who is reliable, proactive, and detail oriented. You will have a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will bring a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to take initiative in solving problems.
You will have experience in leading a small team, someone who places a high emphasis on customer service and safety and experience in repairs and maintenance.
