Salary

$71,448 - $88,069 per annum (based on 76 hours per fortnight) plus superannuation, and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the role

In this role you will:

• maintain and repair the plant and fleet in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
• identify potential problems, establish task priorities and conduct appropriate maintenance repairs in accordance with established practices and procedures
• provide an on-site breakdown service for operational staff for major plant and heavy fleet.

This position is primarily based at Council's Depot, however, you will also be required to travel throughout the Shire in the performance of the duties.

This role operates on a 9-day fortnight, providing a regular Rostered Day Off (RDO). Standard working hours are generally 6:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Position requirements

• Trade Certificate (Motor Mechanic) Motor Vehicle Repair Industry Council
• Current Class MR (Medium Rigid) Driver's Licence.
• RMS Authorised Examiner’s Certificate

About you

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Car Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or Plant Mechanic to join our team.

In this role, you will apply your strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience to maintain, service and repair a diverse range of Council assets, including minor and major plant equipment, light and heavy fleet vehicles.

You are a self-starter who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and respond to breakdowns and maintenance issues to ensure Council's fleet and equipment remain safe, reliable and operational.
