Parks and Gardens Worker
Work that matters, done with people who care.
Help keep Blacktown's parks, reserves and open spaces looking their best as the city continues to grow. Working in the Greenspace Services team, you help maintain the places residents use every day, from local parks and gardens to sports fields and recreation areas.
As a Parks and Gardens Worker, you carry out routine maintenance including mowing, edging, planting, pruning, watering garden beds, weed control and litter collection. You safely operate equipment such as mowers and whipper snippers, maintain plant and equipment, and complete work to agreed schedules and standards.
Working closely with your team leader and crew, you help keep Council owned facilities, open spaces and community assets clean, safe and well presented. You identify and report hazards, follow safety procedures and complete tasks efficiently and professionally.
The work is hands on, physical and outdoors. Well-maintained parks, gardens and reserves provide safe, welcoming spaces for recreation, sport and everyday activities, helping create a city residents can enjoy and take pride in.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, values teamwork and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams – and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,197.30 per week
- a 38-hour working week
- a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
