Are you a confident communicator who can remain calm, respectful and professional in challenging situations? Do you enjoy working in the community and take pride in applying rules fairly and consistently?
You’ll spend your days out and about in the community, responding to parking concerns, enforcing parking rules and helping improve parking outcomes for residents, visitors and road users. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, using technology and having conversations that aren’t always easy.
You’ll also be part of a broader team that contributes to the development of parking strategies and policies, helping ensure parking continues to function effectively across our region.
The Parking Officer is responsible for:
- Undertake parking enforcement activities and respond to parking concerns and complaints to support the safety and accessibility of our roads;
- Work with the community to promote understanding and compliance with parking rules;
- Contribute to initiatives and strategies that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of parking operations;
- Work collaboratively as part of the broader team to support effective parking management across the Local Government Area; and
- Provide support to the Ranger team when required.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Higher School Certificate or equivalent
- Current Driver Licence
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with a diverse range of people
- The ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations
- Resilience and the ability to work confidently and independently, exercise sound judgement and apply rules fairly and consistently
- A positive, team-focused approach
- Immunisation against Hepatitis, Tetanus and Q Fever, or willingness to obtain.

Salary range: Grade 9 - $1,293.00 - $1,399.20 per week plus superannuation and applicable allowances for a 38-hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Please Note: There will be some weekend work required as part of a rotating roster.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
