About the Opportunity

achieve this we are seeking an
experienced Manager Procurement to join our team.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager
Procurement
leads Council’s procurement, contract management and stores
functions, managing and coaching a team of nine procurement professionals.

This is a key leadership role responsible for shaping
Council’s procurement strategy, probity, governance and commercial practices. You will
provide expert advice to the CFO, Executive and business leaders on complex,
high-risk and high-value procurement and contract matters, while ensuring
procurement processes are transparent, compliant and deliver value for money.

Working collaboratively across Council, you will drive
procurement planning, sourcing, category management and supplier performance,
balancing strong governance with responsive customer service. You will also
oversee procurement systems, policies, reporting, training, stores operations
and inventory management.

Success in this role will come from your ability to build
trusted relationships, lead and develop a high-performing team, strengthen
procurement capability across the organisation and deliver commercially sound
outcomes that support Council’s strategic objectives.

On a typical day this role will:

  • Lead, coach and
    support a multidisciplinary team to deliver responsive, high-quality
    procurement and stores services.
  • Advise the CFO,
    Executive and senior leaders on sourcing strategies, tendering, contract
    management and complex commercial risks.
  • Provide strategic
    probity and governance advice and oversee procurement processes to ensure
    fairness, transparency, accountability and compliance.
  • Guide complex,
    high-risk or financially material procurements to achieve defensible decisions
    and value-for-money outcomes.
  • Review
    organisational expenditure, supply markets, contract performance and supplier
    performance, translating insights into sourcing and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with
    business areas to plan upcoming procurements, resolve commercial and
    contractual issues, and improve contract outcomes.
  • Strengthen
    procurement policies, procedures, systems, reporting, training and templates to
    improve organisational capability and user experience.
  • Oversee contract
    registers, compliance monitoring, supplier performance, stores operations and
    inventory control.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Degree level
    qualifications relevant to the role or an equivalent combination of
    qualifications and experience
  • Extensive experience in
    government procurement, tendering and contract management
  • Demonstrated experience
    providing strategic procurement advice to a broad range of stakeholders
  • Extensive experience in
    a leadership role with strong people management skills, including
    managing performance, mentoring and coaching
  • Excellent
    communication, interpersonal and contract management skills with a proven
    ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts to achieve required outcomes.
  • A demonstrated
    commitment to delivering exceptional service and outcomes for
    stakeholders

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent 35 hours per week

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting in the range of
$134,858 to $150,948 depending on skills and experience

This role also qualifies for a Leaseback or Vehicle
allowance

Opportunity for performance based increases available after
12 months.

Superannuation: 12%
