JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a high-trust, autonomous role focused on delivering high-quality asset and facilities services. You will provide expert leadership across a diverse and complex portfolio, including plant, fleet, buildings, and maintenance, ensuring services are delivered proactively and efficiently.
The role drives the development of innovative, best-practice asset management strategies aligned with Council's strategic objectives, while identifying and responding to current and future organisational needs. You will be responsible for shaping effective facilities management approaches that support business excellence, optimal service delivery, and a well-presented, accessible city. Working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure budgets, risk management, reporting, systems, and processes are forward-looking, efficient, and continuously improving.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Relevant degree (or equivalent) with significant demonstrated management and operational leadership experience.
Current Class C Driver's License. - Extensive facilities and project management experience, including leading multidisciplinary teams across building services, plant and fleet budgeting and maintenance, fire safety, security, and tenant management.
- Strong knowledge of Australian building compliance standards, legislation, and regulations.
- Proven ability to lead project and change management initiatives, delivering strategic outcomes.
- Experience developing and managing strategic plans, budgets, and innovative service delivery solutions.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, including working with executives and resolving complex, sensitive issues.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills, with the ability to provide expert advice in a politically sensitive environment and apply WHS and relevant legislation.

The salary (within the above-mentioned range) will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.
All successful candidates will be required to obtain a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process and may be required to undergo a pre-employment medical check.
