  • 38 hours per week (Monday to Friday) with a 9-day fortnight

About the Role

This role operates plant and equipment to support Fleet and maintenance activities, ensures compliance with safety and Council requirements, and assists with operational and emergency response needs, including call‑backs when required. This includes:

  • Operate and maintain fleet hire plant items such as fuel truck, water cart and tipper trucks etc and, if required, any of the duties listed below
  • Operate and maintain hand tools and machines such as grease gun, pressure cleaner, battery hand tools and associated fuel equipment attached to the truck
  • Operate and maintain trucks up to and including those requiring an HR class driver's licence
  • Supervise up to two workers and/or contractors

Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • School Certificate and/or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in operating various plant items and trucks, including, but not limited to fuel truck, water cart, and tipper trucks
  • Demonstrated experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activities
  • Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover)
  • RMS Traffic Controller Certificates - Traffic Controller Blue Card and Apply Traffic Control Plans - Yellow card or willingness to obtain
  • Class HR Licence
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)

We are looking for a reliable and safety focused team player with experience operating plant and equipment. You will be practical, flexible and able to follow procedures, communicate effectively and support day to day operations while working collaboratively and responding to call backs or emergency requirements as needed.
