The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to implement the management of liquid trade waste (LTW) discharges to sewer in accordance with the NSW LTW Management Guidelines 2021 (the Guidelines) and Section 68 of the Local Government Act 1993 (s68 of the LGA).

As a Liquid Trade Waste Officer, you will process LTW Applications and issue LTW Approvals in accordance with the Guidelines and s68 of the LGA. You will undertake inspections and collect information required for approving LTW discharge to sewer and for assessing compliance with LTW Approval conditions.

About You

We are seeking a Licensed Plumber or individual who holds a Certificate IV Water Operations (Liquid Trade Waste) or equivalent qualification suitable for the role, or a willingness and ability to complete such training. And holds a Confined Spaces Entry Certificate along with a Current NSW Class C Drivers Licence.

You will have the following skills and experience;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of liquid trade waste management, plumbing and drainage and sewerage systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team, to work in a self-directed manner, and to plan and prioritise work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and capacity build relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Working knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, Content Manager and Authority.
  • Ability to use survey and inspection Apps on a mobile tablet and phone

Benefits

This is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $95,251.52 gross per annum, comprising of:

  • $1,635.50 per week base salary
  • $196.26 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
