Expressions of Interest – EOI
Our Council
Narromine Shire Council covers an area of 5264 km2 and has a population of approximately 6444 in the rural townships of Narromine, Trangie & Tomingley and the surrounding rural areas. Narromine is located 40km from the regional city of Dubbo.
The identities and values of Narromine Shire have been shaped by the culture of the Wiradjuri People, early farmers and by our strong aviation and sporting history. Today, the Shire has a significant farming-based industry that contributes nationally.
About the Opportunity
Narromine Shire Council is always on the lookout for passionate individuals who are interested in contributing to our dynamic community. We offer a diverse range of opportunities throughout the year across administrative, operational, professional and management roles.
We invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals of all backgrounds, experiences and skill sets who would like to be considered for future employment opportunities with Council. By submitting an EOI, you can provide your resume, outline your experience, skills and qualifications, and indicate the types of roles you may be interested in.
Please note:Submitting an Expression of Interest doesnotconstitute an application for employment and doesnotguarantee that you will be offered a position or invited to participate in a recruitment process. Registering your interest simply ensures your details are available for consideration in future talent pools and that you may be notified of relevant employment opportunities as they arise.
We are interested in hearing from people with experience or qualifications in areas such as:
Operational Roles
Be part of our essential infrastructure teams in Roads, Parks and Gardens, and Water and Sewer Services. Opportunities may include labourers, plant operators, truck drivers, general hands and other field-based positions. A minimum P1 Driver Licence is generally required, with additional licences and certifications such as heavy vehicle licences, traffic control, chainsaw operation or chemical application highly regarded.
Administrative Roles
Support the delivery of Council services, projects and community initiatives through strong customer service, communication, organisational and administrative skills. Qualifications or experience in Business Administration, Project Management, Frontline Management or related disciplines are highly regarded.
Professional and Specialist Roles
We welcome expressions of interest from qualified professionals in fields including accounting, business, engineering, human resources, information technology, environmental services, urban and regional planning and other specialist disciplines.
How to Register Your Interest
To be considered for a specific advertised vacancy, you must submit an application for that position through Council's recruitment process.
Submitting an Expression of Interest doesnotreplace the need to apply for advertised vacancies. Instead, it allows Council to retain your details and consider you for future talent pools and potential opportunities that align with your skills and experience.
Council will generally only contact you if a suitable opportunity becomes available that matches your qualifications, skills or areas of interest.
We pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity employer, promoting diversity, inclusion and equal access for all. People with disability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are strongly encouraged to apply.
At Narromine Shire Council, we are committed to merit-based recruitment in accordance with the principles of theLocal Government Act 1993.
Join us in helping make Narromine Shire a great place to live, work and thrive.
Pre-employment screening
Should you be shortlisted for interview, and are then selected to progress to the next stage following interview, you may be required to undergo the following pre-employment screening process as part of the selection process:
· A functional assessment (at Council's expense) including hearing and drug and alcohol testing
· Reference checks from your 2 work related referees
· Any other additional screening that may be relevant to the role
· Council will check the authenticity of certificates and qualification
