The Opportunity

Lithgow City Councilhas an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experiencedElectricianto join their team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Works Coordinator - Buildings, you will provide efficient, effective and professional installation and maintenance of electrical fixtures, fittings, service cabling and associated elements for Council managed assets. You will be an interactive member of the Trades team, delivering quality customer service to the community and Council.

You will be required to be on-call on a roster arrangement and will be eligible for the associated on-call allowance.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Carry out electrical works of maintenance, improvement or construction nature within Council Buildings
  • Undertake duties associated with the repair and maintenance of electrical installations
  • Carry out electrical tagging of Council's electrical appliances and equipment
  • Liaise with other sections of Council and the public on matters relative to electrical works
  • To continually review and improve work methods where related to this positions work activities in regard to best practice in environmental, quality and WH&S
  • Oversee on-the-job training for electrical apprentices
  • Be prepared to undertake emergency and or breakdown work outside normal working hours

About you

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria

  • Recognised Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Current qualified Electricians Licence
  • Current WHS General Induction for Construction Training Certificate
  • Minimum of three years post trade experience
  • Sound knowledge of WHS and Risk Management requirements
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Through working knowledge of statutory and legal requirements relative to the electrical industry
  • Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity
  • Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety
  • Be prepared to undertake emergency and or breakdown work outside normal working hours

In addition, an ideal candidate would have an elevated work platform ticket, Scaffolding ticket and Safe Working at Heights ticket.

Salary and Benefits

  • Between $1,262.68 and $1,396.12 per week, (inclusive of market premium allowance), depending on your skills, qualifications and experience.
  • Permanent, Full-time, 38 hours per week
