Parking Officer
Lithgow City Councilhas an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and suitably qualified or experienced applicant to fill the position of Parking Ranger within the Environmental Services department of Council.

The Opportunity
Parking Rangers play an important role in keeping Lithgow City tidy, safe and accessible. In this role, you will patrol streets and Council car parks across the Lithgow Local Government Area to make sure parking rules are followed.
Your day‑to‑day work will include checking vehicles, identifying parking breaches and issuing warnings or penalty notices when needed, following Council policies and relevant laws.
You will also help look after the community by reporting issues such as illegal dumping, littering, waste stored on Council land, blocked footpaths and abandoned items.
From time to time, you may need to gather vehicle owner details and prepare information for court, including giving evidence when required.
This role involves dealing with the public, sometimes in challenging situations, so good communication and customer service skills are important. You will work as part of a team and support your supervisor and colleagues to meet service needs and Council priorities. You are expected to act professionally, fairly and ethically at all times.

About you
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Ability to work as part of the team
- Experience in customer service and dealing with difficult customers
- Ability to follow set procedures and work safely
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated commitment to honesty and integrity
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety
In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or equivalent or willingness to complete
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations (Regulatory Compliance) or equivalent or willingness to complete
- Certificate of Achievement in the Self-Enforcing Infringement Notice Scheme or willingness to complete
