About the role

We have a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Customer Service Officer to join our team on a permanent full-time basis, for 35 hours per week.

The main responsibilities of this role will be to resolve customer enquiries in the call centre, by email and face to face at the front counter, as well as carrying out various administrative tasks and assist with basic law enforcement matters.

About you

Along with your proven experience in providing quality customer service in a similar complex environment, your friendly nature, willingness to perform as part of a team and strong communication skills will ensure your success in this role. You will have:

  • Proven experience in the delivery of excellent service in complex customer environments, including call centre experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in customer contact situations.
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution, decision making and problem solving, with resilience and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise and complete tasks to timeframes.
  • A high level of flexibility/adaptability and initiative to handle multiple diverse tasks and work as a team player to deliver excellent customer experiences.
  • Proven technology skills with a demonstrated ability to accurately input and retrieve information using multiple systems.
  • Payment transaction experience with attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with customer request management systems.
  • Front counter experience, cash handling and security awareness.
  • Experience in the Authority Property System, HPE Content Manager, and GIS.
  • Experience in Local Government and a good understanding of local government policies and practices.
