Connecting people, culture, and knowledge

This is an exciting time to join Blacktown Arts. As Coordinator Operations and Administration, you help shape the operational readiness of a new arts centre and cultural precinct while keeping current programs, venues and services running smoothly. You coordinate the systems, people and resources that support exhibitions, events, workshops and community programs across Blacktown Arts.

No 2 days are the same. You coordinate staffing, rosters, procurement, contractors and volunteers, oversee front of house and box office services, manage venue operations, and support artists, suppliers and creative teams. You prepare budgets and reports, monitor expenditure, coordinate meetings, maintain records and databases, and ensure facilities, equipment, security and cleaning services are in place and operating effectively.

You work across Blacktown Arts venues, ensuring events and programs are well organised, safe and welcoming. You help improve procedures, manage compliance requirements, support public programs and tours, and ensure visitors, artists and community members have a positive experience every time they engage with Blacktown Arts.

Your work is experienced by audiences, artists, venue users, volunteers and staff. While much of it happens behind the scenes, it directly supports the delivery of arts and cultural experiences that bring people together. In return, you gain opportunities for professional growth, flexible work practices where operationally possible, and the chance to contribute to significant cultural projects that will have a lasting impact on the Blacktown community.

At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:

  • a term contract, full-time role for up to 13 months with one of Australia's largest councils
  • an entry level salary commencing at $2,437.99 per week
  • a 35-hour working week
  • a car allowance
  • access to Council's flextime arrangement
  • 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
  • ongoing training and development support
  • access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.

Our commitment to safety

Blacktown City Council is committed to safety. We have introduced alcohol and other drug testing at the pre-employment phase, and via a series of random and cause testing.

We are a child safe organisation that supports and promotes the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of children.
