This role sits within our Compliance and Emergency Liaison team and is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating community education and awareness initiatives focused on compliance, emergency prevention and preparedness.  You will foster collaborative partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to guide and support individuals, community groups and organisations to enhance emergency preparedness and encourage behaviour change that strengthens whole-of-community resilience.

You are an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who understands community engagement.  You have completed or you are progressing towards, educational qualifications in Community Development, Emergency Management or a related field.  A current Provide First Aid Certificate, Working With Children Check and ’C’ class driver’s licence are essential requirements for this role.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  • Sound knowledge of community engagement principles and capacity building practices
  • Demonstrated event management and delivery experience with a focus on community engagement and educational activities to elicit behaviour change
  • Sound knowledge in website and social media content writing
  • High level of communication and networking skills, including the ability to develop and maintain internal and external partnerships
  • Sound experience in negotiation and consultation with community groups, organisations and individuals
  • Sound understanding of developing and managing project budgets, including applying for and managing grant funds’
  • High level of organisational and time management skills
  • Sound computer literacy in the Microsoft Office suite products

We are offering a salary range of $82,627 to $87,497 per annum (excluding super) depending on skills and experience; and:

  • 11% superannuation with the opportunity to co-contribute up to 5%
